Athletes

Dr. Johnson has been treating chiropractor to professional, Olympic and national-team athletes since 1999, including players from the Golden State Warriors, Sacramento Kings and the NBA G League; the Oakland Raiders, Seattle Seahawks, Jacksonville Jaguars, St. Louis Rams and a dozen other NFL clubs; the San Francisco Giants; the NHL; U.S. Olympic Team members in women's water polo, figure skating, ice hockey and the hammer throw; and professional triathlon. The athletes named below have spoken about that care publicly.

Aaron Curry, linebacker, Oakland Raiders (2012)

Referred by his agent in September 2012 with chronic knee pain, inflammation and weakness after seeing specialists around the country. Over the team's six-week physically-unable-to-perform period, Dr. Johnson and Aaron rebuilt mobility and strength with muscle release, stretching, exercise therapy and nutrition. He returned to the field without limitation. The San Francisco Chronicle covered it on November 8 and 20, 2012.

Chris Lieto, professional triathlete, three-time Ironman champion (2006 to 2012)

Referred in the summer of 2006 by his manager, Chris McCrary of Forward Motion Race Club. After his first sessions Chris flew Dr. Johnson to Hawaii to treat him in the weeks before the 2006 Ironman World Championship, where he finished ninth in the world and first American, and sixth the next year.

O.J. Atogwe, safety, St. Louis Rams (2010 to 2014)

Used the comprehensive approach to keep full mobility and strength through the season, to recover faster and to prevent injury.

Brandin Podziemski, Gary Payton II, Maddie Musselman and others

Current testimonials from the Golden State Warriors, USA Water Polo, UCLA water polo, Cal rugby and professional triathlon are on the Testimonials page.

Research

From 2018 to 2024 the practice collected baseline, screening and treatment data on its athletes and patients, with consent, and in 2026 wrote the results up as eight pilot-scale studies. They are observational, in-practice and de-identified. They are offered as what one clinic saw, not as trials.
